Hi, my name is Susan. Your site was very informative and I learned what some of those filters your selling are and How to use them! I've researched a lot about fish, but studying which filters to buy and how to use them is not my favorite thing to do. It's also nice that you keep it updated! Keep up the good work!

Hello,

I live in the States (Florida) and saw your page referenced in the USENET aquaria forum. Say, what happened to alt.aquaria.marine.reef?

Just so you can say one of those crazy americans dropped by. :->

I have a 29 gal mini-reef under the counter of my business. (I design and repair electronic equipment for a living.)

I'll get around to posting a pix one day. It's fairly new, but looks good so far.

Take care,

I am in Dallas Texas at Raytheon TI (just purchased from Texas Instruments). I have had to locate a Super Mac to look at your site as the lab computors will not access it.

I've kept marines for ~25 years. Never had a reef tank though. I just moved and while my 115 was torn down I threw out the ug filter and replaced it with 2 bak-paks. I also have 2 hang-on mechanical filters. It's been cycling for a month and is not finished. The original fish purchased for start-up did not survive the ammonia spike. I've replaced them with black mollies which are much cheaper. But I can't brag about what I will be keeping yet because I'm just restarting. I do know that I will be keeping smaller fish this time around. For years I kept preditors...morays, grouper, etc. Thought I'd be different and keep angels and or tangs. I've added 3 Reefballs (models of an artificial reef system that is in use worldwide) for habitats. I am a scuba diver.I've dove many Carribbean reefs and also to the Red Sea.

Still, you have a nice site here. And if you ever hear anything of Michael and Mary, who lived in Aldborough, England in the 1600s, would you please let me know? Thanks, Trakker49.

Yo Dude!

phycla@ifg1.com

I have certainly enjoyed your guest book. It is probably one I would not have found, had it not been for the tragedy the whole world has endured this week. Your tribute to Princess Diana was special to say the least...however, I must be honest. It was when I clicked on "continue" and the "I Will Always Love You" song began to play, that the tears began to slowly slide down my face as they have done so often this week. I am an American and in no way understand all of the ends and outs of the British Monarchy, so the "do's" and "don't do's" I have witnessed from the Royals this week regarding Diana's death have been a mystery to me. In my life, grief is an open display of emotion which spills out, even when we don't want it to.

I am merely a married, mother of two children, who just happens to be the same age as Diana. I have identified with Diana the person through out her entire life in the dreaded spotlife. So it is because of all of those years I feel I have shared with a friend, I now feel such sadness, sorrow, and grief over her passing, especially so tragically.

Even with all of that, my heart actually aches for her boys. The only times I remember seeing her laughing, and I don't mean smiling because that smile we all saw almost daily, was during the times she was with William and Harry. Whether is was on a water ride, thrilled at the mere sight of them as they were reunited yet again, or tossing William over her head while lying on the bed when he was just a baby. Those children brought her joy! I hope and pray her years she had with them will provide a life filled with the precious memories only she could have made with them, in the privacy of their own home.

I thank God for such a flame of goodness in a world filled with so much darkness and things which are bad. I thank God for allowing the Princess to have her own children, fore from the time I met her in the kindergarten, through the trips to visit the sick children in the hospital in the recent days, I know her one true love was the love she had for all God's children here on earth.

I have always tried my best to show my children how much I love them each and every day. Eventhough, somehow this week, I have felt especially honored that I can hold my 4 year old and read her stories. I can go and watch my 10 year old son practice football. I can rub their hair after they have gone to sleep at night. I know if Diana were alive, these would be the things she would do, and perhaps she does them now, though now her arms down from Heaven must bow.

I have heard of Heaven, that it is a place so splendid, one would not want to come back to earth even if given the chance. I only hope and pray for this to be true. As proud as we all were of Diana and the way she tried so desperately to take care of the world, I hope we return the same kindness to her in taking care of her boys.

All Diana ever wanted once her happiness with Charles began to evaporate was to live her private life with her sons. She was willing to share with all of us her life which was public. Why could that not have been enough?

As my husband said, "Now maybe she has found the peace she has so richly deserved." Diana, rest in peace. And to borrow your own words to your father when he died which I have happened along in the last couple of days during this media blitz, "Darling 'Diana,' I'll miss you so dreadfully forever." Love from us all.

To "The Gilbert Zone," thanks for this opportunity you have given me to share this with someone. I'm sorry. I seemed to have rattled on and on. That is how it has been this week. All done is disbelief.

SIMMERSCOL@AOL.com

My husband and I really enjoyed your web site. Richard works in computers and is in the process of building a web site for us. one problems is how to get the music on it like you have done. Here is an unrelated question...we have tried to have simple gold fish and have been unable to keep them alive for more than a month, maybe you have some ideas. I originally went on line to find the official site to leave a message in the book for Diana. My family and freinds have all been in tears over her death and I fell the need to do something. Thank you for your wonderful web site. Keep up the good work! Colleen Simmers - Burlington Twp. NJ ( 20 Min. north of Philadelphia Pennsylvania - USA)

Congratulations. Your web site is indeed innovative. I was actually surfing the net hoping to read more on Diana and its great that I hit yours on the way.If you have the chance, make a visit to Malaysia. Unfortunately, the whole region is now being enveloped by haze due to the raging forest fires in neighbouring Indonesia( Sumatra and Kalimantan). The thick haze reduces visibility range, it is particularly hitting hard in Kuching, Sarawak. It is affecting economic activities as many flights have to be cancelled. Children, the sick and the aged are complaining of breathing difficulties and smarting eyes; hospitalas, medical centres and clinics are seeing long queues of patients.

People the world over are sharing in your grief. Lady Diana was an unbelieveable person, and one that we should all emulate. To lose her and Mother Theresa all in the same week is a blow to the entire world. I cannot think of anyone that has the impact that these two women did. They touched so many lives, and we will never forget them. Diana, rest in peace. We will all miss you...

Hi! My name is Christine Jones, nee Lidster. I am staying with my son  in Boise, Idaho. I actually live in Carlsbad, California, near San  Diego. This is my first time on the internet, so I decided to look up  information on Flamborough Head, where I lived from 1947-53.  Flamborough is near and dear to my heart. My father, Fred Lidster, was  the manager of the Flamborough Head Golf Club during some of these  years. We lived in the 'dormy'house on the cliff top just across from the lighthouse, as well as in the village on Woodcock Road. I attended  the village school (now closed) and Bridlington High School for Girls. This is so exciting for me to find someone who knows Flamborough! We  have been back a few times and I miss it very much. Nothing could have  hooked me to the internet as fast as finding someone else who shares a love of Flamborough.

HELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!

As you can see I have a somewhat sense of humor. In this business it sure helps.

On the serious side, I want to thank you for presenting a wonderful site. There are quite a few subjects to look at. Crossstitching is one of my hobbies along with model railroading. I do not have a layout as of yet. One of these years. Like most Americans, my cellar is a disaster area. I collect anything form 'N' scale up to LGB. I have designed 3 LGB layouts for when I retire to Albuquerque, New Mexico in about 5 years. The sooner the better.

Always enjoyed time off to see the beautiful gardens in the area. Myson and his family (now also in USAF) were stationed in England for four years and he still remarks how green everything is there. When-ever I see any pics of  England, it brings back some nice memories. I had the opportunity to take my wife over there to visit my son and family in the late eighties and, again, we admired all the green and the flowers.

I was so very impressed with your page. I visited the Marine fish, the cross stitch page and thought the roses were lovely. I love the kind of cross stitch that looks like a picture. Last but not least, I visited your tribute to Princess Diana. I have followed her life since the day she married Prince Charles. As an American, I don't understand the Royalty issues, but to us, Diana always seemed like a real person, sort of like the "Girl Next Door" as we say here in America. Her passing was such a shock to all of us. We were all grief stricken over it. Diana was truly a Princess to the World.

Hi!

I signed in your guest book more than a year ago when I was visiting my son in Idaho. He introduced me to my first experience on the internet. I found your page then because of my great interest in Flamborough and all things Flamborian. I am now at last on the internet myself, at my own home in Carlsbad, California, near San Diego. I'm having a great time. I decided to come back and visit you again. What a change! Your new site is fabulous. But of course the Flamborough pictures take precedence. I'm trying to wangle another trip back there next year. Next time you go, say hello to the lighthouse for me. It was there that my husband, (then-to-be), first told me he loved me, 39 years ago. Thanks for bringing back the good memories.   30/10/98  (DG - Thanks for coming to see again!)

This has been the best web page.

I cried when I read the letter written about Princess Diana, it says everything I felt in my heart. She was the best inspiration in my life as a mental ill person. I try to follow her in the deeds of kindness and charity for others. Yes, she had the most beautiful smile..a small vision from a truly beautiful soul.

I can't say enough of all the wonderful things Princess Diana has done for the world as everyone knows. It is her example for us to share ourselves even in small ways to others for a better place on earth.

God looked down and saw an angel that did good works and when her job for which she was sent to do was done, he called her.

Please hold out your hand and help one person to have a better life. Smile and give a compliment to 3 people everyday.

Love each other...

Thank you for letting me to finally share my thoughts with others.

Well, what a small world.

There I was, searching the net for Aquariums to get a couple of photographs of shoals of fish and what did I see. "Flamborough and Bridlington". Back in 1958-61 I was stationed in Bridlington at the North Eastern School of Wireless Telegraphy training to be a Radio Officer. The views you have presented here have brought back a host of wonderful memories of times past. Having passed my certificate I left for sea and ended up residing in Wellington, New Zealand. I wonder if there are any other ex NESWT Radio Officers out there who have visited this site and were training there during the late 50's and early 60's.

Great site, great memories.

P.S. whatever happened to the Flamborough Head lifeboat shed and ramp??. I also see that the old Bridlington Spa Ballroom still seems to be there. Had some phenominal dances there.   13/11/98

Loved your page! Your garden is wonderful, my husband and I are trying to do our back yard, a little at a time, so I know what kind of work goes into it! I must, however, disagree with your asessment of Lilliput Lane. I am a tried and true (240+ pieces) fan of David Winter. But we can agree to disagree. :)

Take care, Christine   17/11/98

Came upon this site by someone recommending it as a source on how to do french knots in my cross stitch-these dratted things always beat me. Glad to see you like Derbyshire, I was born and raised there and miss it very much. We currently live in Essex-very flat.

Will visit frequently

I'm a professional photographer with the Evening Post in Nottingham and I like the look of your site. It's nice to see pictures of Bridlington and Flamborough. When I was a youngster we used to visit Bridlington for our holidays most years. Now we've moved further down the coast to West Norfolk and Hunstanton. Visit my photo web site and see some of my work and hints and tips of photography - both conventional and digital. The site address is http://www.stocks42.freeserve.co.uk By the way I live in Huthwaite, Notts which is about 16 miles north of Nottingham.

Cheers

Just happen to be browsing home pages with similair  names as my self. Gilbert is a very popular name as  well as the name David. I know my ancestors go back to England. The first Gilbert was a Mathew Gilbert who landed on the East shore of the states in the  early 1600's. I am his 11th generation. His Great Grandson Isaac Gilbert was a Queen's Ranger and Settled after the war in Southern Ontario about 3 hours east of where I live right now. I am his 8th Generation. I have 3 children, Isaac 10 (named after his forefather), Courtney 9yrs, and Brandon who is 6. Maybe were related some how in the past. It would be interesting to pick up the  geanology to England one day. Anyways, drop me a line  if you want. I don't have a web page yet. But I have a brother in Hawaii and he has a web page. Check it out at http://www.aloha.net/~gilbert/ Anyways talk to ya soon. And by the way you have a great looking family and a kool web page.

A very rewarding site. Most interested in the cross stitch and got my mother to look at the examples (I put one of her's on my site). It is beneficial, however, to download highest quality photos and split the pages if necessary - in any case, we download photos realising it takes time. It might be better to offer frames and keep the menu available throughout. But I like it a lot and this is what a good personal site should be! Adrian Worsfold 31/12/98

I have enjoyed your website.I'm a collector of Diana "things". I have been doing it since I was fourteen years old. I can't tell you how devestated I was when my husband woke me up to show me the morning paper. I thought it was a hoax. To my disbelief it wasn't. I hope someday I may come to England. That is my "fantasy" vacation, maybe once my boys grow up and leave the nest that just might come true for me. Cindy Clark   4/1/99
